DAY 26—Bold confidence is born in us when we open ourselves to God’s Love given us in Christ Jesus.

 

The Love that comes to us through Christ Jesus will have its perfection in the Day of Judgment. By its work in us, we shall have a bold freedom to stand before the Throne of God. There will be no fear in us. We will know our place in His Kingdom because we have known our place in Christ.                                             

I John 4:17-21—Herein is our Love made perfect (In this Love is brought to its perfection with us), that we may have boldness (parresía, bold confidence) in the day of judgment: because as (just as) He is, so are we in this world (because He is in us and we are in Him, we will stand with confidence in the Day of Judgment). There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love Him, because He first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God Whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
NIrV—...God is Love. Anyone who leads a life of Love shows that he is joined to God. And God is joined to him. So Love is made complete among us. We will be bold on the day God judges us. That’s because in this world we love as Jesus did. There is no fear in Love. Instead, perfect Love drives fear away. Fear has to do with being punished. The one who fears does not have perfect Love.

DEAR FATHER, I am just beginning to find out how powerful Your Love is when it is released to flow through us. I am facing some problems with people. In my natural self, I would like to tell them off. But, I’m being convicted that letting Your Love reach them through me would be much better. Please let Your grace work this Love into me. Give me the wisdom needed to approach them. Let the Love that moves through me be genuine.
